4 Royalty Free Podcast Sound Effects and Music Resources

With the huge growth of the video and podcast creator community, the marketplace for royalty free music has increased right along with it. These days, there are several resources online for music, all with various licensing options uniquely appropriate for your production needs. In the following post, I’ll review 4 resources with various usage and membership options. So, let’s dive in!

Soundstripe

This site provides content creators accessibility to their expanding collection of royalty free music at an affordable price. A Soundstripe membership unlocks unlimited licenses for each song in their curated music library. Soundstripe offers an excellent array of quality songs, and its unlimited licensing model is unique in the industry. They only represent the top talent in music. Soundstripe hand selects each song which goes into their catalog and carefully curate every playlist with the most relevant tunes. Even though they especially have a goal of offering music for video content creators, Soundstripe’s collection is an excellent music source for all content creators. Memberships begin at $15/month.

Marmoset

It’s a platform which offers carefully curated music for licensing. Marmoset’s roster involves emerging and rare independent artists, record labels and bands. It’s possible to purchase licenses for vocals or instrumentals by just adding the suitable license to your cart. Also, their services extend beyond licensing. If you are searching for a song yet do not have time to look for it on your own, their Music Licensing Creative team will sift through the roster, and curate the ideal songs that match your project’s unique needs. Prices start at $29 for a single use, personal license.

Machinima Sound

It was started to assist creators who were faced with threats and violations of content removal if they didn’t comply with usage rights. On Machinima Sound, once you purchase a license to a music piece, the music is yours for an unlimited quantity of projects in any media worldwide, forever whether non-commercial or commercial. Once you download a free version of their music, it’s possible to use it only for listening purposes.

ccMixter

It’s a community music remixing website that features samples and remixes licensed underneath Creative Commons licenses. With the license, you can sample and download music on their website, as well as share the results with anybody, anytime, anywhere. Some tunes may have specific restrictions, depending upon their specific licenses. Every submission is clearly marked with the license which applies to it. The website is one-of-a-kind in the sense that its intended purpose is for collaborations between DJs, singers, and musicians. All tracks on ccMixter are free to use, with some having specific restrictions. Every track clearly has its license indicated.
